Space saver! Aug 03, 2009 Item is a space saver especially when you have limited space. I really like the color, design and solid frame of this item. However, putting it together prove to be a little difficult since one of the parts, (one of the legs, go figure) was defective! You know when you buy shoes and it looks like you have a right shoe and a left shoe that wants to be a right shoe and is definitely not a left shoe!! Yeah, real cute! Not worth the money to send the entire unit back. So, after an 1 1/2 hour of going back and forth with my "let's start all over one more time" husband, we decide to see if it would work with the defective leg/shoe! Yes it works, but it is a little wobbly and so far has supported to adults bikes without falling.
Perfect indoor rack Jul 16, 2009 Like other reviewers here, I'm an apartment dweller, but I also have very high ceilings, so the floor to roof style rack wouldn't work for me. I don't want to drill into the walls so I didn't like the leaning racks either. This Nashbar free stander is perfect though. The high quality of the materials is apparently as soon as I opened the box. Shipping came through fedex directly from Nashbar and was much faster than expected. Assembly was easy and quick (just need a 10mm wrench, which every biker I know has). Price was a bit more than I wanted to pay originally, but it's totally worth it -- this rack looks like it will outlast both my bikes. I have my GT mountain bike on the bottom (XL frame), and my roadie on top; the rack is very stable.

True stand alone rack Jun 29, 2009 I live in a small condo, and I needd a true stand alone rack. No drilling, no pseudo stand alone rack that needs to rest on the wall. This rack is excellent. It's very sturdy, I have two chihuahas and I have no fear that it will fall on them. You can also purchase extra arms, and turn this into a 4 bike rack.
I used the small arms for the top bike, to lessen the space it takes up. And I have some of the smaller arms hold my helmet, camelbak, etc... It's a very versatile rack. This rack is pretty close to the wall, so you don't have to worry about it sticking out from the wall. I can't stress how awesome this rack is.
The only drawback to this rack is if you have a full suspension mtb, it may or may not work depending on your rear suspension system. Might be tough for some bikes with a small triangle to fit on here. Otherwise, this rack is a true stand alone rack. I didn't purchase it from amazon, but found it cheaper at nashbar.com. You can also search the internet for nashbar coupons, which are always available.

Built to Last Jun 23, 2008 I looked at all the back racks available and based on the reviews I chose this one and I'm happy I did. I figured, I'm willing to pay more for something I'll have and use for 10+ years.
The rack was easy to put together, though the instructions could have provided a tad more detail. It took me about 15 minutes to put together.
I am very happy with how sturdy this bike rack is. You get what you pay for and with this bike rack you get quality. I'm also happy with how it looks.

It works just like I hoped it would. Jun 20, 2008 It takes up very little space, is easy to assemble and is sturdy. I highly recommend it.
